Clean Beauty Products I’ve Added to My Everyday Routine 2020

Hi everyone, and thank you for tuning into my blog post today–My first post of 2020! That is so crazy to think about.  Something I really focused on last year was paying more attention to the ingredients of all of my beauty products. There are so many clean beauty brands coming out, and I believe it has made all of us more conscious of our choices when we shop! These are some that I have added to my routine in the past few months and love them enough to share with all of you. As always, I’ll link all the products I talk about within the post. If you click on the BOLD names of the products, it will take you straight to the exact product. You can also shop by clicking the photos at the bottom of my post.  Alright, let’s talk clean beauty.

MegaBabe Rosy Pits: I’ll start with this product because honestly, this was initially the inspiration for this entire post. (not sponsored) It’s amazing.  I have been trying to switch over to a natural deodorant for monthssss. (I originally started off trying the Native Deodorant: Every blogger and their mother was talking about it, so I thought it mustttt be good.  Well, I first tried the coconut vanilla scent for a while. Then, the Jasmine. Both gave me rashes and made my underarms dark!! not cute.)  So, I started to do a little research, and I found out that although Native Deodorant is a “natural” deodorant, it still contains baking soda. Baking soda can be an irritant to skin if you are sensitive, and does not mix well with sweat! Who knew.  Anyway, I decided to try out MegaBabe Rosy Pits after more research.  This stuff is SO good. I don’t even like rosy smells either. To me, this smells like clean sandalwood mixed with a hint of rose.  And it is soothing, which was wonderful after breaking out from the other deodorant.  I highly recommend this scent over their citrus scent.

Burts Bee’s Face Wash:  I was bummed when I couldn’t find my regular every day face wash at target or any grocery stores, and I decided to pick this one up to try. I love Burt’s Bee’s as a brand, and this one of course is much more natural than what I was using before. It also removes all my makeup without drying out my skin, which is super important to me. I have very dry skin in the winter and this gentle foam works great. I will definitely repurchase!

Tula Face Scrub: So, I tried this product along with another Tula product recently, and this one is a winner! I was super skeptical of Tula (everyone on Instagram ravessss about Tula), so I wanted to test out some recommendations myself with my 20% off coupon at Ulta.  This scrub is gentle, but not too gentle to the point that it doesn’t remove dead skin and build up. It smells wonderful like pineapples, and my skin actually feels hydrated after. I only use this about twice a week because I don’t love to over exfoliate my face.

Baebody Eye Gel: This was a random Amazon find that has over 15,000 reviews! It is an eye gel that has peptides and other wonderful ingredients to decrease the look of dark circles, puffiness, etc.  I have actually noticed a difference with this product! I use it at night, and I apply an eye cream on top for extra moisture (again, I have very dry skin).  You get a ton of product in this container for the price too!

Kiehl’s Midnight Recovery:  This brand is not actually considered to be a “clean beauty” brand. However, this overnight treatment is made of wonderful clean ingredients for your skin. (It has a great rating on the Think Dirty App. More info on this at the bottom of my post.). It is a face oil with a dropper applicator. I drop about three drops directly onto my face after cleansing and pat it in with my fingers.  I apply my moisturizer after to seal it all in.

Bite Beauty Agave Lip Treatment: I purchased this product during the last Sephora sale because I was trying to get my total purchase price higher in order to receive free shipping! I’m so glad I did. This stuff is amazing! I haven’t dealt with chapped lips at all this winter, and I really think it’s because of this product! It is superrr thick lip balm and a little goes a long way. I apply it at night, and it has completely replaced my Vaseline lip treatment that I used to use.

Baobab Oil: This is a pure oil in a pump bottle that I add into my hair mask! I add about 4-5 drops in with it and work it into the bottom half of my hair. It has really helped with the damage from highlighting my hair and dryness from the winter air! The only downside to this oil is that it comes in a glass bottle, so be careful if keeping it in your shower!  This brand also has other pure oils in this line. I also love the Argan oil! I even put the Argan oil on Joise’s coat for moisture and shine. 🙂

SHOP THE POST:

***Honorable mention: Trader Joes Miceller Face Wipes!! ***Next time you are in TJ’s, be sure to pick up these face wipes and try them yourself!  I am super picky about face wipes, and I have tried a ton of different brands. These are great! I find a lot of times with face wipes that they are dry and don’t do anything other than tug at my skin. These are perfectly wet, and remove all of my makeup before I go in with my cleanser. LOVE!

I also want to talk about the app I have been using for the past couple years to see how “clean” my beauty products are. It’s called the Think Dirty app, and you can look up all kinds of beauty products or even scan their bar codes while out shopping to see how “clean” the products truly are.  They go into detail about all of the ingredients in the products and explain to you why certain items may be harmful. It has definitely taught me a lot about what to look for + what not to look for in my skincare and hair care products.

I hope y’all found something from this list that you want to try out! Let me know some of your fave beauty brands or products below! I would love to try them out and continue to add to this list throughout the year! Thanks for reading. 🙂

Cheers,

Olivia
