My first ever home related post! I have to say, I was surprised at how much I enjoyed writing a post about home decor. Don’t get me wrong, I love home decor and it’s something I have a high appreciation of whenever I’m showing homes for work. (I’m a realtor for anyone new around here!) However, It has just been something that I’ve kept pretty simple in my own home. I really enjoy clean lines, contrast of light and dark colors, and a mix of modern edgy pieces with classic pieces. I hope you enjoy!
Now, onto the topic of this post–The makings of a chic, cozy bedroom! I want to first talk about comfort, because that is the most important, and always comes first for me. I am a terrible sleeper, and rarely sleep a full night without waking up several times. I think it is super important to invest in your sleep! Treat yourself: Buy the luxurious sheets, silk pillowcase, memory foam mattress pad, cooling pillow, etc. You won’t regret it! I’m linking the exact items I have on my bed below, and I swear they improve my sleep by a long shot.
Something that I simplified when we moved in January of this year was the amount of decorative pillows on our bed. I’ll admit, we had too many (My husband agrees lol). For someone who can’t leave the house without making the bed, it was a little much for every day haha. I decided to go for a sophisticated look by choosing less pillows and mixing different textures and colors. Simple, but not boring! I’m linking exact pillows, throw, and headboard below!

Thank you so much for reading! Feel free to leave me a comment–Let me know something that you have in your bedroom that expresses your personal style and adds coziness.
Hey hey beach bums! Since Jordan and I have been going to Ocean Isle together for over 10 years now, I thought it was about time I posted about some of or favorite spots! This place is so so special to us, and we continue to build more and more memories there together. It is crazzzzyy to think that the first time I went there, I was a freshman in high school. Fast forward several years later, and we got engaged on the inlet there as well. ♥️ Now, we love to go and bring Josie for our lil fam getaways. ☺️
Okay, I’ll start with coffee / breakfast:
OIB Surf and Java: Jordan loves to stop here on our way in or out, since it is actually located right off of the island! It’s in the same shopping center of Lowes Foods. They have really great coffee and a cute little gift shop as well!
Drift Coffee: This is my favorite spot to grab coffee because it is on the island and you can walk/ride bikes to it. They have outdoor seating too, so I walk there with Josie and drink my iced latte on the deck, which is SO delicious. I’ll admit that I haven’t actually eaten there, but the food look amazing too. They offer healthy options like avocado toast and smoothie bowls (sounds like a pretty millennial place I guess 😂.)
lunch / dinner :
Sharky’s: This has been one of our favorites for yearssss. They have been on the island for over 30 years! We love to come here for lunch or dinner. It is very casual, and they offer anything from burgers, wings, seafood, to pizza! (Pizza is actually what I recommend getting there–so so good!) You can sit indoors our outdoors here. Their outdoor seating overlooks the water, and you can watch boats go by.
Jinks Creek: This is my personal favorite place for dinner on the island. The views are so so gorgeous (located just past the bridge going onto the island). I recommend going here as close to sunset as possible so that you can enjoy the views with dinner. My suggestions on what to order here are the truffle fries and the cob salad with shrimp!!
Beaches Burgers: This is a little local secret located just off of the island. It is for sure a lunch spot! When you drive up, you will definitely underestimate it because it’s a tiny building with a small gravel parking lot and a drive-up window off of the road (you can eat inside too though). However, they have wonderful burgers and hot dogs. Jordan orders a burger and tater tots here, and I get a hotdog and fried okra! Keep in mind that there are no healthy options here lol.
One thing you have to do for dinner while you are visiting OIB is go to Calabash, which is about 15 minutes away. It is a small fishing town and known as the “Seafood Capital of the World.” Our 3 favorite restaurants in Calabash:
Boundary House: This is a nicer restaurant–We go here for special occasions or if we want a fancier meal one night! Jordan and I celebrated here with friends right after we got engaged. 💕 My dad and Jordan love the steak here, and I stick with the blackened shrimp and garlic cheddar mash. 😍
Captain John’s Seafood: If you want a truly classic Calabash-style fried seafood platter, look no further. They serve all the fried goodness along with a baked potato and yummy complimentary hushpuppies.
Oyster Rock: This is such a neat place! This is actually where we ate for Jordan’s bday this year (who doesn’t actually like seafood btw haha.) We absolutely love the decor in here (modern beachy vibes.). Order. the. crab. cakes. 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼 Jordan ordered the spaghetti and meatballs and loved it also!
Okay, finally dessert & drinks:
Ocean Isle Creamery: This is a wonderful spot on the island to grab something sweet. It’s in a cute yellow building with “homemade icecream” written on the front. They have so many different unique flavors to choose from, and my fave is Reeses cheesecake. They also have smoothies, milkshakes, cookies, ect.
Tiki Bar: We don’t usually go out for drinks while we are on the Island, but this is a great place to go during peak season. It is outdoors and located at the top of Ocean Isle Fishing Center that overlooks the sound. The atmosphere is pretty great here, and you can order fun drinks!
I’m sure we will add to this list! Talk to you soon.

This shoot was so much fun! Jordan and I truly had a wonderful time working with all of the vendors involved. Many aspects of this shoot were unique! I’ll start by talking about the venue. This shoot took place at the Museum of Life and Sciences in Durham, which includes a butterfly exhibit and garden. These components definitely create a romantic fairytale-like setting.
I enjoyed getting ready for this shoot because it is a style completely different from what my personal wedding day was. Also, the ladies that helped me get glammed up are so sweet and talented! The theme of this shoot was “Boho,” which is far more trendy than my typical classic style. 🙈 Theresa and Renee did such an awesome job transforming me into a polished boho bride!
The photographer for this shoot was so fun to work with. He gives wonderful direction, as well as has a great imagination that captures the scene. During some of the shots, he told Jordan to whisper different types of cereals in my ear to make me laugh, which was silly but totally worked! We loved working with him. 🙂
One of the vendors that stood out to me was Barbox, which is a mobile-bar service you can have at your wedding! What a cool idea–Especially for venues that do not have a dedicated bar space. It creates a great photo-op as well.
A little behind the scenes info–The dress in this shoot did not fit at all! We clipped the dress with some heavy duty clips either in the front or the back for every shot. Besides that, I loved this style of dress. It fits the boho/trendy vibe, but it is timeless at the same time.
I’m personally an all white flowers kinda girl for weddings, but the color scheme in this shoot was really fun. The yellow flowers really played off of the blue accents, and represented the venue space well.
All of this of course wouldn’t have been accomplished without a wedding planner to fit the many moving pieces together. Thank you, Hillary for organizing this shoot! This created a wonderful opportunity to get so many different creative minds involved.

Thank y’all for stopping by! I really appreciate the support (I know there are millions of blogs out there). So, I appreciate you following along. For my first post, I want to take the time to talk a little bit about why I started this blog in the first place and what kind of content I plan to put out!
Back in February, I had the wonderful opportunity to join the Pink Magnolia team modeling for their site. At the time, I was working at a job that I was unsatisfied with, and photo-shoots were something I was able to look forward to each week. I have had the most fun and have learned so much about photography throughout the past several months working with Allison, Pink Magnolia’s photographer, and now a good friend of mine! I quickly became inspired to produce my own content!
For a few more months, I continued to work my regular job in addition to the weekly photo-shoots for Pink Magnolia. Then, in May, I came across another opportunity to work for myself as a real estate agent with Keller Williams. I quit my job and dove right into a month full of training and networking. I learned more in one month with my current job than I did in 11 months of my previous job. Needless to say, it has been an incredible and challenging experience so far! I really enjoy working for myself, making my own schedule and staying busy.
You can expect anything from fashion to real estate posts from me in the future! I plan to keep my posts short and sweet, while sharing what I learn along the way. Thank y’all so much for reading!
