Y’all… I found them. The most flattering and on-trend “Mom” jeans for this Spring and Summer. (and they are currently 25% off!) I have been so skeptical of this trend because I didn’t want to wear “baggy” jeans. Skinny jeans have always been my go to. However, these are fitted in the right places and just a little bit more roomy in the hip and thigh. The best news: they come in regular, petite, and tall lengths + they have a curvy option that allows even more room if ya have a booty 😉.
The FIT: I’m wearing a 25 regular length in both the light wash and white classic mom jeans here, which is my normal size. (I am 5″6). They are true to size in my opinion. I love that they still flatter your shape without being super skinny. I would describe the fit as a relaxed skinny jean. They have a vintage stretch to them, which means they do not feel like leggings lol. So, if you are into suppperrr stretchy jeans, these aren’t it! They are 99% cotton and 1% elastane.
I still find them to be quite comfortable, and I can’t wait to style them with my Spring/Summer tops and sandals! I am linking the exact pair I’m wearing in these pictures below as well as some of the other combinations that I love.
I know many of us are working from home for the foreseeable future, so I thought I would write a quick blog post on some essentials that really make my work from home experience better! These are all items that I have loved and used for a long time.
Weighted Blanket: Jordan got me this blanket for Christmas, and I have been in love with it. If you stress out easily or are simply always cold, this throw blanket is so great! It gives you the perfect amount of pressure and eases anxiety. Perfect to throw over your lap while you work from home.
Blue Light Glasses: I know that most of us stare at screens for a significant chunk of the day. Jordan and I have really been loving these blue light glasses for work, scrolling our cellphones, and playing video games. They come in a pack of two, so you can share with your significant other. ☺️
C-Shaped Computer Table: This is something that I have been using for years now, actually using it as I type out this blog post–a total game changer. (Linking a similar version of the one I have had for years). It allows you to use your computer comfortably while sitting on the couch, recliner, or wherever! Also, it’s a pretty cute addition to your living room. Jordan and I are constantly moving this around the house. It can scoot right out of the way because of the way it is shaped. Linking it here.
The Best Coffee on Amazon Prime: Coffee is of course necessary during the work day, and in order to keep social distancing in effect, you should be avoiding coffee shops at the moment! We have probably ordered 10 bags of this coffee over the past year–We are hooked. Linking the whole bean option (the one we buy for our espresso machine) and the ground coffee option.
“The One Thing” by Gary Keller:A book beneficial for your mindset in your personal and business life! I’m reading it this week as a reminder of what is most important to me in my personal and business goals. There is also and audiobook option, and a podcast series.
BONUS: Since most of us are staying around the house, I thought I’d also share an app that I really have been loving that has several different brain training activities that you can personalize to your own liking. There are several different subjects for sharpening writing, reading, speaking, and math skills. It’s educational and a great distraction from all of the chaos going on right now. I’ll link it here in case you are interested in checking it out. (Not sponsored.) I discovered this app on my own. 🙂
Let me know below what is helping you get through this ongoing work from home quarantine! I would love to hear from y’all!
Chances are, if you are on instagram and follow any influencers, you have heard of Tula. Tula is a skincare brand that offers cleaner ingredients, and raved about by hundreds and hundreds of influencers it seems. So, naturally, I was curious enough to pick up some Tula products myself to test out! A couple months ago, with my 20% off coupon at Ulta, I decided to try out 3 of the most talked about products. I of course wanted to share with you all what I thought of the products I picked up, so let’s go ahead and chat about them! (This post is not sponsored in any way, Tula has no clue who I am lol.)
I’ll start with the So Polished Face Scrub. I immediately loved this product. I use it about twice a week. It is a gentle scrub that slowly dissolves as you rub it in. It is abrasive enough to remove dead skin, but not too harsh that it feels like it’s scratching your face. It contains sugar, papaya, and pineapple, so it smells AMAZING. My skin feels incredibly soft afterwards, and not dried out. I would definitely repurchase this product! It has taken the place of my old face scrub already.
The next product is an interesting one: The Face Filter Primer. This primer is packed with really great ingredients like turmeric and probiotics, and releases warm-toned glow particles as you blend it in to your skin. I really loved the idea of this product, because I personally love a more radiant blurred finish. However, these glow particles in this product really are pretty pigmented, and I find that wearing this under my foundation makes my makeup look a bit uneven. Perhaps this is because I’m more fair-skinned that this product appears blotchy under makeup. I did also try this face filter out without wearing foundation on top for a “no makeup” look, and I do think it looked better that way. I just don’t think it looked good enough to replace other bb creams that I use for that kind of look. I hope Tula comes out with a more translucent version of this primer, because I love the blurring and radiance, just not so much the color. Unfortunately, I’ll be taking this one back!
Okay, now onto possibly Tula’s most famous product right now: The Rose Glow Eye Balm. They talk about this product selling out all the time. It’s another unique product that doesn’t really compare to any other products out there right now. It is a rose-tinted hydrating and cooling eye balm packed with wonderful ingredients just like the rest of their products. You are supposed to be able to apply this under or over makeup for a pick me up. My initial thoughts about this product was it is pretty radiant and it does have a cooling sensation right away! I’ve worn this with and without makeup, and here are my thoughts: I have really dry skin, and usually apply eye cream day and night (prior to going to bed, and prior to putting on makeup.). So, I thought that this might replace eye cream during the day with all of it’s wonderful claims. However, it simply does not moisturize enough on its own for my skin needs. I also find that the cooling sensation and the radiance does wear off throughout the day. Probably not a product I would repurchase for the price. Instead, if you are looking for some extra radiance and some added brightening under the eyes, try Tarte’s Maracuja C-Brighter Eye Treatment. I love to put this on before makeup!
I hope that this helped those of you who are curious about Tula! I searched high and low for non-sponsored reviews before trying all of these products myself, and I realized that I needed to write my own! If this review was helpful to you, I would so appreciate you subscribing to my blog. I love to review beauty products and share about fashion and lifestyle items as well! As always, thanks so much for reading.
If you’re like me, this weather in NC right now has you dreaming about a Spring vacay and a littleeee bit of color in your wardrobe. Last week on my Instagram post, a ton of you told me you were going on trips this Spring! I know I’ve had a trip to Charleston or Nashville on my mind when the weather warms up. Of course, planning for any sort of trip, it’s always fun to add a little something to your closet. 🙂 I have put together 10 different jumpsuits suitable for vacay or simply as transition pieces for the warmer weather ahead. 🌴☀️ Just add a denim jacket for now, and you’re all set. Just click any jumpsuit below to instantly shop. I hope everyone is having a great week so far!
Hi everyone, and thank you for tuning into my blog post today–My first post of 2020! That is so crazy to think about. Something I really focused on last year was paying more attention to the ingredients of all of my beauty products. There are so many clean beauty brands coming out, and I believe it has made all of us more conscious of our choices when we shop! These are some that I have added to my routine in the past few months and love them enough to share with all of you. As always, I’ll link all the products I talk about within the post. If you click on the BOLD names of the products, it will take you straight to the exact product. You can also shop by clicking the photos at the bottom of my post. Alright, let’s talk clean beauty.
MegaBabe Rosy Pits: I’ll start with this product because honestly, this was initially the inspiration for this entire post. (not sponsored) It’s amazing. I have been trying to switch over to a natural deodorant for monthssss. (I originally started off trying the Native Deodorant: Every blogger and their mother was talking about it, so I thought it mustttt be good. Well, I first tried the coconut vanilla scent for a while. Then, the Jasmine. Both gave me rashes and made my underarms dark!! not cute.) So, I started to do a little research, and I found out that although Native Deodorant is a “natural” deodorant, it still contains baking soda. Baking soda can be an irritant to skin if you are sensitive, and does not mix well with sweat! Who knew. Anyway, I decided to try out MegaBabe Rosy Pits after more research. This stuff is SO good. I don’t even like rosy smells either. To me, this smells like clean sandalwood mixed with a hint of rose. And it is soothing, which was wonderful after breaking out from the other deodorant. I highly recommend this scent over their citrus scent.
Burts Bee’s Face Wash: I was bummed when I couldn’t find my regular every day face wash at target or any grocery stores, and I decided to pick this one up to try. I love Burt’s Bee’s as a brand, and this one of course is much more natural than what I was using before. It also removes all my makeup without drying out my skin, which is super important to me. I have very dry skin in the winter and this gentle foam works great. I will definitely repurchase!
Tula Face Scrub: So, I tried this product along with another Tula product recently, and this one is a winner! I was super skeptical of Tula (everyone on Instagram ravessss about Tula), so I wanted to test out some recommendations myself with my 20% off coupon at Ulta. This scrub is gentle, but not too gentle to the point that it doesn’t remove dead skin and build up. It smells wonderful like pineapples, and my skin actually feels hydrated after. I only use this about twice a week because I don’t love to over exfoliate my face.
Baebody Eye Gel:This was a random Amazon find that has over 15,000 reviews! It is an eye gel that has peptides and other wonderful ingredients to decrease the look of dark circles, puffiness, etc. I have actually noticed a difference with this product! I use it at night, and I apply an eye cream on top for extra moisture (again, I have very dry skin). You get a ton of product in this container for the price too!
Kiehl’s Midnight Recovery: This brand is not actually considered to be a “clean beauty” brand. However, this overnight treatment is made of wonderful clean ingredients for your skin. (It has a great rating on the Think Dirty App. More info on this at the bottom of my post.). It is a face oil with a dropper applicator. I drop about three drops directly onto my face after cleansing and pat it in with my fingers. I apply my moisturizer after to seal it all in.
Bite Beauty Agave Lip Treatment: I purchased this product during the last Sephora sale because I was trying to get my total purchase price higher in order to receive free shipping! I’m so glad I did. This stuff is amazing! I haven’t dealt with chapped lips at all this winter, and I really think it’s because of this product! It is superrr thick lip balm and a little goes a long way. I apply it at night, and it has completely replaced my Vaseline lip treatment that I used to use.
Baobab Oil: This is a pure oil in a pump bottle that I add into my hair mask! I add about 4-5 drops in with it and work it into the bottom half of my hair. It has really helped with the damage from highlighting my hair and dryness from the winter air! The only downside to this oil is that it comes in a glass bottle, so be careful if keeping it in your shower! This brand also has other pure oils in this line. I also love the Argan oil! I even put the Argan oil on Joise’s coat for moisture and shine. 🙂
SHOP THE POST:
***Honorable mention: Trader Joes Miceller Face Wipes!! ***Next time you are in TJ’s, be sure to pick up these face wipes and try them yourself! I am super picky about face wipes, and I have tried a ton of different brands. These are great! I find a lot of times with face wipes that they are dry and don’t do anything other than tug at my skin. These are perfectly wet, and remove all of my makeup before I go in with my cleanser. LOVE!
I also want to talk about the app I have been using for the past couple years to see how “clean” my beauty products are. It’s called the Think Dirty app, and you can look up all kinds of beauty products or even scan their bar codes while out shopping to see how “clean” the products truly are. They go into detail about all of the ingredients in the products and explain to you why certain items may be harmful. It has definitely taught me a lot about what to look for + what not to look for in my skincare and hair care products.
I hope y’all found something from this list that you want to try out! Let me know some of your fave beauty brands or products below! I would love to try them out and continue to add to this list throughout the year! Thanks for reading. 🙂
Hey y’all! Last week, I had the pleasure of exploring Raleigh’s newest shopping center, Midtown East, and I wanted to tell you about the places we went while we were there! Thank you, Regency Centers for having me! First of all, the shopping center is so gorgeous! It is all decorated for Christmas right now, so it is the perfect time to go check it out! They have so many wonderful businesses, shops, wall murals, and more to come.
We started out our day at DryBar, and I was treated to my very first blowout! I’m not going to lie, I’ve been pretty skeptical of this place (I didn’t want to love it 🙈), and I’m so glad I finally tried it out! It is so relaxing, and the ladies in there are incredibly friendly. You feel right at ease the entire time you’re there. You can choose from their look book of what style blowout you want, and sip on a complementary mimosa while you are there! And, of course, I was obsessed with my hair when I left. I have seen so many others who love DryBar and rave about it–I think a gift card for a blowout would be such a great gift for someone on your list, or one of their wonderful gift sets! I’ll link them here. Also, how cool is it that you have the chance of getting a free piece of jewelry from Kendra Scott when you book your blowout at DryBar?!
Our next stop was Waxing the City. First of all, I love how clean this place is! They are truly obsessed with cleanliness there. They have a team of trained aestheticians who are waxing experts. They also have wonderful gift sets like these sugar scrubs that smell amazing! Linking their products that they offer here. New clients receive 50% off your first wax! That’s an awesome deal.
From there, we went on toBeauty Co. They are Raleigh’s first ever micro-treatment beauty bar offering non-surgical restoration, enhancements, and state of the art skincare treatments. Y’all, if you didn’t see my stories from last Thursday, they have this AMAZING relaxation room stocked with coffee, tea, and snacks that you can sit in while you wait to get your treatments. I could honestly sit in there all day. They also have really great skincare goodies and more that make great gifts!
We checked out Club Pilates as well. You can book your first Intro Class for FREE! Their studio is so beautiful, and they also have wonderful workout gear for sale. I loved this set from their little shop below:
Midtown also has a New Balance store, which has allll your athletic shoes and gear needs covered! Here is a pic of my fav shoes in the store as well as this adorable sweatshirt that matches. Would make an awesome gift! Everyone appreciates a great athleisure outfit.
We ate lunch at Cava, and it was so dang good! They are a Mediterranean restaurant where you can order salads, rice bowls, hummus ,and more! I also just learned that their spreads are sold at Whole Foods as well! They truly have something there for everyone to eat. Make sure you try the Beet Lemonade–It’s delicious!
I’m sure if you live anywhere close to Raleigh, you’ve heard of the new Wegman’s as well. Boy oh boy was I not prepared for Wegman’s lol. It’s basically a huge supermarket with a wonderful selection of wine, fresh prepared foods, fresh meats and cheeses, full bakery, full coffee shop, burger bar etc. You could basically spend all day in there, but, since we only had an hour, we stuck to tasting some wine, grabbing a coffee, and walking around a bit. I also left with some chocolate chip cookies that were wonderful. I totally rate all grocery stores on their bakeries, and Wegman’s totally wins in that category! Definitely check if out if you haven’t already!
And lastly, I want to spotlight MyEyeDr! They have a beautiful space in Midtown East. If you are interested in prescription eye glasses or sunglasses, definitely check them out! They also do eye exams (I go to the Cary location to get my eyes checked each year). They were so kind to give away a pair of sunglasses with this blog post, so be sure to check out my instagram post for details!
I hope that this post brought you some new knowledge of Midtown East in Raleigh and possibly sparked some ideas for gifts this season! Let me know if you check out this shopping center! I would love to hear your thoughts. ☺️
Hey y’all! Today, I sat down with Jordan and my brother to finish up this Men’s Gift Guide to help you shop! Therefore, it is man approved!! There are some really great items on this gift guide, many of the items are some that Jordan owns himself and has his stamp of approval. I will not go too much into detail about each item, but if you have any questions, please feel free to leave me a comment down below or message me on Instagram. I would love to help you out any way that I can!
Fleece Quarter Zip: Jordan and I just ordered this for someone on our list! It is a great price, and perfect for these colder months.
Cole Haan Boots: My brother has these on his Christmas list this year. He loves the look of these because they are winter boots that can be dressed up.

Vintage Mini Fridge: I think this is perfect for any man on your list. You can keep your beer nice and close to you on game day, or add it to your office at work for your beverages. Linking the smaller version here (would be cute on a side table next to the couch).
Glencairn Whiskey Glass:For the avid whiskey drinker. My brother and Jordan both love theirs and use them all the time. I’ve actually drank red wine out of one before because they are so comfortable and easy to hold. I love that you can personalize them too! If you haven’t heard of these, definitely check them out!
Ring Doorbell: We love our ring doorbell! These are great for anyone honestly!
Something I’m wearing to allll the holiday parties coming up? A confident, white smile. 😁 Hey y’all! This is my first giveaway of the season, and I am so excited to share it with you! If you have been following along for a couple of months, you know that I have been testing a new teeth whitening system. As promised, I’m sharing the results with you all, and also giving away a FREE kit ($150 value) to one of you reading. (Details at the end of my post.)
I’ll start by telling you a bit about my teeth whitening history. Because I’m a frequent coffee, tea, and wine drinker, my teeth definitely experience staining as a result. I have used crest white strips, whitening toothpaste, professional whitening (after Invisalign), and while some gave me decent results, they all made my teeth so sensitive. Therefore, teeth sensitivity was a primary concern when I started the teeth whitening system from Smile Brilliant. I was so happy to learn about the desensitizing gel that comes with your teeth whitening kit from Smile Brilliant. You simply put on the desensitizing gel after your whitening session, and it soothes any sensitivity you may have encountered from the whitening gel. Something that I have found is that whitening before bed is the best for sensitivity because it allows your teeth to go untouched from food/drink for several hours. Also, if you know you are more sensitive, start off with a shorter whitening session. Just my bit of advice!
Something really awesome about this kit is that you don’t need a dentist appointment to begin! You don’t even have to leave your house. You make your own impressions right at home from the supplies that Smile Brilliant sends over. It is perfect for those of you who are so busy and always on the go!
I was very impressed with how much whiter my teeth were just after a few uses! My mom and my husband even noticed that my teeth were whiter after a couple sessions. I’m so happy to have a whiter smile going into the new year, and all of the events leading up! I am beyond happy with the results. Check out my before and after below: You can see that just the slightest surface staining I had is completely gone!
Enter to win your own teeth whitening kit (desensitizing gel included) by clicking on the giveaway link below and entering in your email! You can also get 15 % off with code OLIVIACCGREEN15 ♥️
I can’t believe it is already December first as I’m writing this! I am so excited to share this with y’all, as I have had so much fun putting it together. Last year, I remember thinking I was going to make some great gift guides for this year! All year long, I have kept an open note on my phone and computer to add to this list. I hope that this helps you with your shopping this year. I know that it can be stressful to find the perfect item for everyone on your list. I appreciate you using my links–I make a very small commission from these retailers, and it helps my small business grow!
IT Cosmetics Brush Set: I actually received this same set a few years ago for Christmas, and I love them SO much! They feel so luxurious and soft on your skin, and hold up nicely. I also love that it comes with a cute quilted travel case!
MVMT Galla Watch: A wonderful quality watch that goes with everything! I wear mine almost every day! Comes in multiple colors (I have my eye on the black one for this year 😉 ).
Chanel Chance Perfume: This perfume smells soooo lovely. It is perfect for everyday. Sophisticated and not too heavy. I got a sample from this from Nordstrom, and it will for sure be my next perfume purchase.
Ugg Slippers: I have these in tan and black. Best slippers ever! I’ve had mine at least 5 years, and they are still looking great.
Slip Pillow Case: I treated myself to this last year for Christmas, and I don’t even travel without it now! There are so many benefits to sleeping on a silk pillowcase. Perfect gift for any lady in your life! (comes in multiple colors.)
Dyson Hair Dryer: I know, I know. This is insanely expensive. I received this as a gift 3 years ago, and it is the best dang hair dryer I have ever used. It cuts your drying time down, lessens the amount of frizz, and is much less damaging to your hair. I loveeee mine.
Travel Mirror: I couldn’t find my exact travel mirror that I have personally, but this one has great reviews! Perfect for someone who travels a lot, or simply someone who wants a smaller mirror for detailed makeup everyday. It has built in lights so you can do your makeup anywhere!
Metal Crossbody: I wasn’t going to include a purse on my gift guide, but this one is so unique and has become one of my favorite pieces this year. It adds some edge to any outfit. I’ll link the gold version here as well!

Monogram Wine Glasses: These are such a great gift for any hostess or wine lover in your life! I love the shape of them, and personalized gifts are always so special!
Polaroid Camera: I think this is such a fun gift for someone who is an “in the moment” type of person. We had one of these cameras at our wedding, and we loved the special memories that it created.
Computer Side Table: I wanted to include this item because it is something that I use almost every day, in fact, I’m using it right now as I type out this blog post. It is so perfect for someone who works on their computer a lot at home. You can easily move it around the house, and sit anywhere with your computer! It also looks very stylish in whatever room you put it in!
Faux Fur Blanket: One of the best purchases Jordan and I made after we got married. This blanked is the best quality and makes your bedroom/living room look so luxurious and cozy. It is heavy and very soft–We like to keep it at the foot of our bed.
EyeShadow Palette–I use this eyeshadow palette every single day. I even used it on my wedding day! Great quality, and very versatile palette for any gal.
Central Perk Coffee Mug: So cute for the F.R.I.E.N.D.S. lover in your life, I’ve had my eye on this one. (hint hint Jordan).
iPhone Charger Organizer: This is a great idea for your tech girl who has an Apple Watch and air pods! You can charge all of your things in one place in an organized fashion.
Cozy Plaid Scarf: This is such a great quality scarf! So soft (80% cashmere). I have the cranberry colored one, and it comes in so many other color options!
Ear Huggie Earrings: I just ordered these! Very inexpensive, and highly rated on Amazon. Thanks, Dani Austin for sharing about these!
Alright, I haven’t shared a recipe on here in SO long! Currently eating sweet potato soufflé while writing about it on a Sunday afternoon, life is good. This one is sure to please, I promise. (Inspired by Alan Jackson’s recipe.). This is the only dish that I care about my mom making year after year to put on the table at Thanksgiving. Is it a side? Is it a dessert? I’ll leave that up to you. I eat it as both, and it is so delicious! 😆
Here’s what you’ll need:
3 Large Sweet Potatoes
1/2 tsp of Salt
1 1/2 cups of sugar
1/4 cup light brown sugar
1 stick of butter
1 tsp of vanilla extract
2 large eggs
1/3 stick of butter
1/4 cup of light brown sugar
1/2 cup chopped pecans (I like to leave these whole, and the more the merrier)
Preheat your oven to 400 degrees Fahrenheit
Wash sweet potatoes and wrap with tin foil. Bake for 1.5 hrs. (You can also cook in crockpot on high for 4 hrs.)
Let potatoes cool down for 10 minutes or so. Peel potatoes and mash together with 1 stick of butter.
Add in the rest of the ingredients, mix well until combined.
Pour into a greased casserole dish (Momma uses more butter for this).
Bake for 30 min
Take dish out and add the topping. Spread the butter over the top and let it melt into the dish. Sprinkle brown sugar and pecans.
Bake for an additional 10-15 min
ENJOY!! 😊 Thanks for reading. ♥️
